Character Information
Character Name: Ash
Character Pronouns: He/Him
Canon: Original
Canon Age: 1000+
Canon Point: Shortly after his 'nephew' left home on his little adventure
Canon Link: Ash was born shortly after the founding of the Four Lands, in their infancy as nations of their own. A Witch, a magical faceless being born from the shattered remains of a soul that failed to reincarnate properly, he came into the world fully-formed and confused. Absorbing information from all the newfound sights and sounds much akin to a sponge, he wandered around in a dazed fog until picked up by another one of his brethren several days after his birth. Confusion, followed by acceptance, Belladonna's voiceless teachings instilled a sense of self that ground him to his new reality. She was not entirely kind, merely neutral, but she was what he liked to call his first 'friend' in the years that would come to follow.
Aspected to Wind, with the feathers of his winged brethren stretching up his arms, he was a wanderer at first. There was so much to see, people to watch, things to learn, and he was overcome with a visceral hunger for it that he would almost call agonizing. The more he learned, the more he knew, and the more he knew, the more he could do. This philosophy started early and continues even to the present day, when his feet and wings have carried him over nearly every inch of the world he was born into. People found his kind frightening, with their inhuman countenance that only a lack of a face could offer, as well as their staggering magical abilities that most of the races would struggle to match. Despite this obvious fear or hatred, Ash couldn't bring himself to hate those besides himself.
If anything, it just made him love them more.
Years passed, cities were built, and conflicts arose, as they always do. He watched several wars in the pass of his centuries, indulged in their peacetimes, and listened to the woes and stories of those brave enough to approach. He loved suffering, as much as he loved revelry; all these things bring out a sense of excitement, that something new is coming. Attempts on his life are just as amusing as sliding across the dancefloor of a party, and he didn't hesitate to step between planes just to experience a new side of things.
At the age of 600, a friend of his, another Witch born in the last few centuries past, met an untimely end at the hands of greed. Witch Hearts are valuable, prone to disappearing moments after a Witch's death as their body calcifies and turns to dust, and thus are coveted by many collectors and fanatical magicians eager for one of the rarest materials one can find.
This was perhaps where he first experienced anger; not out of a love, no, but out of the loss of something he found fun and entertaining. It would be one of the first times he raised his hands to hurt someone out of something rather than self defense, and found the outcome...enjoyable. There is something thrilling in the fear and revulsion of others, he found, almost as much as their joy, and it's what encouraged him to alter his attitude. While initially rather friendly and charming, he became more prone to being purposefully annoying and almost backhanded. It made some people laugh, and others hiss. Garnering new reactions became one of his favorite pastimes. Killing is a bit boring, and not something he did for fun, but there was little qualms on doing it if the opportunity arose.
By then, he had a reputation. Good for some, bad for others, as all rumors go. He was a madman and a con artist. He was a wish granter and a playboy. He could make your dreams come true, but for a price. Witches have little need for mortal money with their abilities and interests, especially with their diet, but wringing new ways to have people pay for his service made it seem to gleam all that much brighter in his hands. Around his 900th year, he put a stop to his wandering, and decided to set up shop in the capital city of Belker, for a taste of 'something new'.
While the Moonside is outwardly a curiosity shop, he deals in many things; divinations, of the smoke variety. Magical artifacts. But most of all, he deals in wishes. For more gold than your life is worth, or for something so dear to you you'd never wish to part with it, he can do nigh whatever you'd like...but there are no refunds.

AU Information
AU Name: Born Ashford Corvinus, but after turning, simply took the name Ash. He does occasionally use his last name, but not often.
AU Age: 33 when turned, 42 years a vampire.
Physical Differences: Ash does not have a face in canon, but he does in this AU, for obvious reasons. He does, however, continue to cover it up with an (actual) mask. It's the shapeshifting that gives it it's odd 6-eyed quality, so if he ever drops it, it just looks like a normal porcelain mask. Physically, he's roughly the same besides, but he lacks the feathers he used to have on his arms for the sake of manifesting his wings. Now he just has to shapeshift into a normal bird...
AU History: Born as the first son of his house, Ash grew up with one younger brother and one younger sister, being taught from an early age to run from any sight of sharp teeth or bright eyes. Most children would probably heed these warnings, but even in his youth, he showed a surprising amount of interest in the activities of vampires. Despite desperate attempts to get him to realize the danger they posed, he saw them as interesting things to be admired, arming himself with knowledge out of a sense of morbid fascination rather than focusing on his studies.
While originally set to inherit their house as the heir and first son, he has near zero interest in actually going through with it. He put on a good act in front of others, but had a notable habit of intentionally stirring up trouble, citing it necessary to keep people on their toes as he got older. His siblings found him insufferable, whilst his parents fretted over his apparent lack of self preservation. Once he hit adulthood, he was forced to stand in on tense meetings full of debate over economy and politics...the former not his interest, the latter only in certain lights. While he certainly was capable of handling things, smart as he was, it was rather clear that Ash had little attention to spare for particularly boring activities.
He grew bored, an uncomfortable itch of stagnancy hitting, and while his younger brother took over much of his duties, there is little to be done to fix it in the cold of the north. A man in his 30's, sick to death of the lack of excitement and burning knowledge this will likely be the case to the end of his days. Or it was, until a Blue Court vampire showed up on their doorstep seeking a new foundling.
While his family were filled with dread, Ash seemed almost ecstatic. To their horror, he even volunteered, with an enthusiasm most would never show when faced with a potential trip to Castle Courtsheart. Impressed by either his audacity or his enthusiasm, perhaps even both, they agreed, and within the hour, he had barely spent much more than a few words of farewell to the family he'd known for years before taking his leave in his Maker's shadow.
While a troublemaking student, Ash failed none but Silver, which was an on-purpose act to test the waters (and to both irritate a teacher he wasn't fond of). He excelled in animal shapeshifting, and took to the Night Terrors like a fish to water....a fact most of his students would likely come to dread in later years.
He would go on to become a teacher once a proper youngblood himself, with little interest in leaving. All the fresh blood means fresh experiences, and nothing is more fun to him than watching a bunch of baby sheep stumble into the world and trip on their way out. Whether or not he'll admit to this, of course, depends on the day.
AU Personality: Ash has changed very little from his canon counterpart, due to their years of inhumanity. Someone with a feral thirst for knowledge rivalled only by his lust for excitement, he's a man that makes it all too easy for people to detest him...and he's fully proud of it. He likes reactions, thrills, and getting under people's skin, all whilst disliking stagnancy and predictability. He can find something charming in the latter when it comes to people, but rather selectively. He's a difficult man to anger or irritate, simply because he's capable of finding enjoyment in most things, but there are certain ways to dig beneath his porcelain veneer if you find the right cracks. It would simply be a matter of digging your way in first before he beats you to it, and he doesn't tend to hesitate when it comes to stirring the pot. A man can have self-control, certainly, but too much spoils the fun.
Ash in this AU has a bit more history with his own humanity, and thus, has a bit of it left compared to his canon self...he is capable of truly forming bonds with other people (even if it is a difficult feat), rather than viewing them all as toys or pets to entertain himself with as a default setting. This is where the main difference lies, as otherwise, they are both purposefully insufferable creatures. Both has the capacity for pity, rather than sympathy. Capable of being charming, dramatic, all whilst turning around and making an underhanded jab just to see what will happen.

Course Information
Court: Blue Court, due to their love of revelry, which makes it a good fit for a man who generally just wants to enjoy himself in any way possible. While not openly malicious like some of the others who cull their foundlings on the way, he's hardly any better, as he makes little effort to life a finger to deny these claims or help anyone. He's here for a good time and a long time.
Subjects of Interest: Ash specializes in shapeshifting, mainly that of the Night Terrors, but handles animal shifting for the earlier years. He also, occasionally, teaches a class on revelry...half on acting, half on experiences you may regret after. All part of the process.
Maker/Blood Claim: I'd like to have Ash's maker be an older Blue Court vampire...a fresh elder or a youngblood nearing the end of her 50 years, if at all possible? In terms of being a Maker himself, he's sired a few over the years, but Norton Campbell is one in specific.
